Carpentry trade

Carpenter websites that show the craft.

Portfolio galleries, dedicated bespoke pages, decking and fitted-furniture services — built for carpenters whose work is the sell.

Carpentry is a craft trade, and the craft is the entire sell. Homeowners commissioning bespoke alcove units, a new staircase, fitted wardrobes or a garden deck buy with their eyes — they look at your photos, decide whether the work is at the standard they want in their home, and only then care about the rest of the website. Get the photography right, and the rest is supporting cast.

That changes the design priority. We build carpenter sites around fast-loading, well-shot galleries — close-up joinery details, finished installs in context, complete projects from arrival to handover. Phone photos work fine if they're well-lit and in focus, but we'll guide you on what to shoot if your archive is thin. Then we split bespoke work into dedicated service pages — fitted wardrobes, alcove units, staircases, doors, garden buildings — because bespoke customers search by exactly those terms, and generic "carpentry services" pages miss them entirely.

The other split worth making is interior versus exterior. Garden carpentry (decking, pergolas, fencing, garden offices) is a different season, a different customer mindset and a different set of search terms from interior fit-out. If you do both, two clear paths from the homepage convert better than one merged service list. The same applies if you do day-rate small jobs (door hanging, skirting, shelving) — useful as an entry point but separated from your bespoke and project work so the price-led searcher doesn't dilute the impression for the bespoke customer.

Trust signals matter less in carpentry than in gas or electrical work, but City & Guilds or NVQ status, TrustMark, Which? Trusted Trader and public liability insurance all help. Google Business Profile properly set up, photos posted regularly (Google rewards it), and a review workflow that turns every finished job into a review on your Local Pack listing. Hosting, SSL, care plan — all sorted.
