Gardening trade
Gardener websites that book recurring contracts.
Package pricing, lawn care programmes, hedge cutting services — designed to convert one-off enquiries into year-round revenue.
Gardening is fundamentally a subscription business. A new fortnightly maintenance customer at £45 per visit is £900 of revenue across a typical spring-to-autumn season, and most customers stay for years if you do the job properly. The website's job isn't to book a single visit — it's to convert the visitor into a recurring slot. Done right, you stop chasing work entirely; the calendar fills with renewals and the phone becomes for new bookings only.
That changes the design priority. Package pricing front and centre — "essential fortnightly maintenance from £45 per visit", "full monthly garden care from £80", "spring and autumn tidy from £140". Three clear tiers (essential / full / premium) qualify leads, reduce phone time, and let customers self-select the level of service. Add-on services (lawn care programmes, hedge cuts, one-off jobs, holiday cover) sold separately. Pricing transparency is a competitive advantage — most local gardeners hide their prices behind a phone call, and the customer who got two prices over the phone and one clearly on a website tends to call the website.
The lawn care programme is the under-used revenue lever. Four or six visits a year of feed, weed, aerate and scarify (£60–£120 per visit) is sticky, scheduled revenue with high margins — and differentiates you from competitors who only mow. A dedicated page selling the programme as an annual subscription closes well. Same with hedge cutting: a major seasonal search (July–September peak) with high-margin per-job pricing, especially if you have height equipment.
One-off jobs (overgrown clearances, garden tidies, post-winter resets) need their own path from the homepage so the customer who isn't ready for a contract still books. RHS qualifications, NPTC certificates and public liability insurance stated. Google Business Profile properly set up — gardeners massively under-use this — with photos of finished gardens and a review workflow that turns every happy customer into a five-star Local Pack review. Hosting, SSL, care plan all sorted.
